TerraNova – All students in grades 1st-11th grades test annually with the TerraNova 3 achievement test series.  Parents receive a preliminary reports online and a detailed test summary at the conclusion of the school year.  WCS students score consistently in the upper quartile of national norms.

SAT – Junior and senior students are encouraged to take the SAT during the second semester of the junior year or first semester of the senior year.

ACT – Students in 11th grade take the ACT during the spring of their junior year.  Required by the state of North Carolina, this college board test allows both students and faculty to evaluate individual strengths and weaknesses in college readiness.

PSAT – Students in 11th grade take the PSAT for the fall sitting of their junior year.  This scholarship qualifying test offers preparation for the SAT and evaluative scores to assess college readiness.

PLAN – Students in 10th grade take the PLAN offered by the college board.  This test serves as a preliminary for the ACT and as a placement test for the College Career Promise dual enrollment program through the North Carolina community college system
